Get ready y'all, today is a rare day. No outfit, no recipe...no, today, I'm talking pets. Specifically cats. Yayyyyy! This year, Morris the 9Lives cat is celebrating his 50th Adopt-i-versary! That's right, one of Advertising's Greatest Icons, has been blessing us for 50 years!
How sweet is his adoption story: Morris was "discovered" in 1968 by animal talent scout Bob Martwick at the Humane Society in Hinsdale, IL. **Sidebar. This has me thinking if a sweet orange tabby can be discovered, my big break might be coming soon, soooo, from now on, my makeup will be on point every single trip I take to the grocery store.** Since then, Morris has done his best to help promote kindness to animals and in 2007, launched Morris' Million Cat Rescue®, to save those animals in need of a forever home.
Pretty amazing right?!? Celebrating the health and happiness of cats everywhere, 9Lives wants your cat, your neighbor's cat, the cat that I feed everyday in my back yard (even though he doesn't quite realize we're friends yet...I'm pretty sure I'm growing on him), to live well. 9Lives can certainly help you do that, providing taste, nutrition and the variety your cat hungers for.
If you just can't get enough Morris, no judgement, I can't either, check out The Story of Morris the 9Lives Cat Video and learn more about Morris the 9Lives Cat and his 50th adopt-i-versary. You can also visit the 9Lives Facebook page and get a glimpse of what it's like to be a celibri-cat, as Morris introduces his Cat Pack !
You can pick up your 9LIves Cat Food right at your local Dollar General and even better, use the Ibotta app, you can even score yourself a nice little cash back. Check out the coupon here .
Since we're celebrating Morris' big day, Lil' Pete, my handsome cat, thought this would be the perfect time for you to get to know him a little better. His likes, dislikes...you know your basic profile information if he had a profile anywhere. He also thinks this information will serve all of you current cat owners, or soon to be cat owners, well when caring for your kitten.
Likes: Food (especially breakfast, early bird gets the worm you know), long baths in the window, and toys properly scattered about the home.
Passionate About: his health. If 8 hours of sleep a day is recommended, imagine how healthy you would be with 22?!? Also, he has a pretty mad yoga-game.
In a Previous Life Lil' Pete was: a security guard. He enjoys catching all of the outside action going on around him and he has an innate ability to know when another animal (cat, dog, chipmunk, rabbit, etc.) sets a paw on his property. He does not like trespassing.
Gets Annoyed When: his human declares they're having a photo shoot. He's still unclear of what exactly that means, other than being held when he's not in the mood for holding (he'll let you know when that is... but it usually falls around the same time you sit down to work at the computer).
Turns His Nose Up When: the water isn't fresh. Like really fresh. Like he will snub his water after it's been in the bowl for approximately 30 minutes. And if you're not sure whether the water is at peek freshness, don't worry, if he's sitting by his water looking at you like you're possibly an idiot and meowing, I'd refill it.
I hope you enjoyed getting to know Lil' Pete a little better and finding out a few little known secrets about Morris! Let me know in the comments below if you have pet and what their name is - pet names are the best!
