Tips for a Fresh Home by Spring

Nice-Home-Scents.jpg

I know, I know. You read my title and gave me your best side-eye. It might not currently feel like it, but spring is on it’s way…I just know it! And I don’t know about you, but I LOVE a good spring cleaning. There’s something about a fresh house that looks and smells good. I mean, don’t you LOVE coming home and seeing everything in it’s place and breathing in a nice fresh scent? I know I do!

So, back to spring cleaning. I HATE when all of a sudden I realize it’s spring and I have a list of chores to do that inevitably takes me days (or weeks) to complete. Instead, the past several years, I have a checklist I like to start marking thing off of NOW, so when spring is finally sprung, instead of being inside cleaning, I can be outside enjoying the weather. Ya feel me?

Before you start with your cleaning list, next time you’re shopping at your local Walmart, you HAVE to pick up the Renuzit® Snuggle® Scented Oils. I’m getting into specifics below, but trust me when I tell you your home needs these in it’s life:) They’ve left my house smelling so fresh (and yes, so clean). Every time I open my door, it just smells like home:)

Also worth noting, through one of my favorite money savings app, Ibotta, you can save $3 on any one (1) Renuzit® Snuggle® 3 ct oil refill and Save $5 on any one (1) Renuzit® Snuggle® 5 ct. oil refill while supplies last!

A Spring Cleaning List that Won’t Overwhelm You

Nice scent? Check. Now that your home smells great, lets make spring cleaning a breeze! I’ve got some amazing spring cleaning tips I’ve been using for about three years. No more waiting until the first two weekends of spring to get my home ready for the season. I do these additional things each week beginning now so that I don’t have to spend extra time indoors when the warmer weather arrives.

1) Start with your closets! Why? Their tedious, but once you get to them, you will literally want to clean every single nook and cranny in your home. Get rid of the things that have collected dust, no longer fit or are no longer used.

2) As you’re doing your regular weekly or daily cleaning, commit to sprucing up one thing you would typically save until spring:

  • Trash Cans: Nobody likes doing this, but next time you empty your trash, wipe down both the inside and outside with a damp paper towel, and then using my DIY Natural Cleaner recipe below, spray, let sit and wipe down again before putting a new trash bag inside.

  • Refrigerator: This past week, every time I did the dishes, I also committed to cleaning just one shelf of my refrigerator. I took everything out, sprayed it down with the same cleaner mentioned above and today, I have a clean refrigerator! Next up is my freezer!

DIY All-Purpose Cleaner

Searching for DIY cleaners? Try this:

  • Juice of 1 Lemon (strained from pulp)

  • 1 C White Vinegar

  • Distilled Water to Fill

Add lemon juice and vinegar to a clean spray bottle and fill with distilled water. I use this on EVERYTHING - yes, trash cans and refrigerator shelves, but also counter tops, floors, doors, walls, sinks, etc.

3) Start looking for dust-webs, cobwebs and pay special attention to corners. Another something I’ve done this past week is to “look up” every time I’ve swept or vacuumed my floors. I swear those little dangling dust bunnies have appeared out of no-where, but they are definitely there! On my walls and ceilings and in dark corners where the floor meets the walls. I’ve gotten rid of them…well, most of them. I think:)

4) From now until spring, decide to do one “extra” cleaning task every week. For me, this week, it was cleaning the tops of my refrigerator and microwave. Being vertically challenged like I am, I never see the tops of these areas and OMG, I was embarrassed when I got out my little ladder and started cleaning. Yikes! It’s amazing how dirty an area gets that is literally never used. My apologies to any of you tall people who can actually see these areas of my home.

Other extra cleaning tasks to get your home tidy: under the refrigerator and stove, a thorough floor cleaning, baseboards and trim, wiping down all doors and walls, under sofas and living room furniture, the backside of your TV, windows and mirrors, and your wall decor.

Boom! Decide to complete one of these tasks each week for the next two months and your house will be SO ready for spring and you will be SO happy you didn’t save it all for one or two days.

How to Make Your House Smell Good

As I mentioned above, the icing on the cake are the Renzuit® Snuggle® Oil Refill 3pk Linen Escape and Renzuit® Snuggle® Oil Refill 5pk Linen Escape whose scents are EVERYTHING! I’ve use Snuggle® all the time to help freshen scents throughout my house, not just for my laundry. I used to place the dryer sheets in my drawers and closets, desk and hidden where no one could see them throughout my house. Now I don’t need to!

I have loved walking into my home and smelling such an inviting scent, I mean, hellllo?!? It’s Snuggle®! The Renuzit® Snuggle® Oil Jars are universal, so they can be used in existing Glade and Airwick warmers that you may already have.

Want even more good news? Beginning February 12th at 12:00 a.m. EST through March 29th at 11:59:59 EST, you can enter to win daily prizes of 100 Renuzit® Starter Kits containing the warmer and oils!
