How to Save Time Throughout the Week
Over the past year, I’ve made a conscious effort to be a better “grocery-getter.” I take the time to plan my meals, and because I typically shop at Walmart, I can also plan on picking up anything non-food related that I might need.
I had gotten myself into such a terrible habit of not really planning too far in advance and started ending up grocery shopping way more than necessary. And while I love shopping at Walmart, let’s face it, who wants to spend that much time in the produce section during any given week?
Nobody has time for that, including myself. So now, I’m much more of a planner. I always get a week (and sometimes two) out of one trip, giving me so much time back. This past week, I picked up my groceries, some cleaning products, bronzer and salt for my sidewalks all during one stop. Success!
Of course, no trip to Walmart would be complete without stocking up on my Green Mountain Coffee Roasters®. After grocery trips, I typically reward myself by brewing a cup because honestly, putting away groceries is one of the worst things on earth for me. I need chairs or ladders to reach my higher shelves and welllll, it’s a lot of effort:)
My favorite flavors are the Caramel Vanilla Cream and Nantucket Blend. As soon as I pop a K-Cup® pod in my single serve brewer (which I also conveniently picked up at Walmart) I’m taken with how amazing each smells. So good!
Did you know Green Mountain is doing their best to give? For example, they’ve partnered with a supplier to help supply coffee farmers with high-quality seedlings to plant while keeping them educated on agriculture best practices. Not only does this help supply the coffee you and I are drinking, but it helps to give those farmers a better, more reliable income. I love that!
It’s so great to find out that brands I’m fans of are also fans of giving back and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is certainly doing their best to do that!
It’s Always a Good Time for Good Deeds
So with the extra time I’m saving thanks to Walmart and the inspiration I’m feeling courtesy Green Mountain’s good deeds, something else I’ve decided to make a habit of is going out of my way, daily, to do something to help others in some capacity. At least one good deed a day is such an easy goal to accomplish when you really start thinking about it and I’ve got five things you can do that won’t cost you a thing, or very little, that are certain to brighten up someone else’s life!
1) Yard work - maybe it’s shoveling a sidewalk, or raking up some leaves, but if you’re able, why not take 5-10 extra minutes to help a neighbor?
2) While we’re talking about weather related things - it’s snow season, yayyyyy (that’s a sarcastic “yayyyyy” by the way). Have you ever walked out to your car expecting to have to scrape all the snow off, only to find it’s already been done? OMG, best feeling ever!!!! So why not give that feeling to someone else by getting the snow off of their car while yours is warming up?
3) Have a favorite parking attendant, toll booth worker, or anyone else who spends a lot of time outside? Warm them up with a cup of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee. They’ll be SO appreciative.
4) Picking up your pet’s favorite food? Grab a 2nd bag and donate it to your local shelter. Those sweet lil’ fur babies with eat it up….literally:)
5) Bring back your manners! It costs nothing to be nice, not even your time, and yet, so many people are somehow too good to say the words, please or thank you. Don’t be one of those people.
