Natural Beauty: Best Lip Balm for Hydration

Learning More About Natural Beauty and Why It’s Important

tube of Eco Lips Mongo Kiss Lip Balm

I will be the first to admit, I don’t typically check the ingredients in my beauty products. I’m not sure why - maybe because it’s easier just to pick up/purchase whatever I need, or what I’ve used in the past, what has good reviews, or, even just because I like the packaging (yes, I do judge books by their covers).

More so, I think it’s because we (me included) have been conditioned to just trust “them.” “Them” being the brands, the FDA/USDA/Government, etc. If it’s available, it must be safe. After all, when has the government or government agency ever lied to us (lone shooter, like your doctor/keep your doctor, weapons of mass destruction, fast and furious, Tuskegee, etc.)?

Take a look at the ingredient list in a tube of Chapstick and ask yourself if you think these synthetic ingredients are in any possible way good for you. I know, I know, they’ve been deemed safe because they’ve been “refined,” and if you trust that, continue using them. But, if something doesn’t sit right about slathering on numerous petroleum bi-products, it’s nice to know you have options:)

Before I give you my thoughts after using Eco Lips, I thought it would be fun to do an ingredient breakdown, between Eco Lips and Chapstick:

Natural Beauty Lip Balms and More!

I can testify that Eco Lips is the ultimate pampering for your lips. Super hydrating, smells fantastic, and I never feel bad about using it. There’s something else I’ve noticed since using Eco Lips, I didn’t expect.

I used to feel the need to constantly apply or reapply lip balm. I use this maybe twice a day, three times if I’m brushing my teeth a lot. So a VERY unscientific opinion, is that there might be some truth to lips becoming more dry with the more “balm” you use. Or, maybe it’s just the type of balm you’re using;)

Eco Lips has a variety of types of balms, including a vegan cheek and lip balm tint, all natural lip scrubs, body oils and something I’m really excited to try this summer, Bug Soother Bug Spray and Candles. These are chemical-free and also all-natural and according to claims, really do work. After trying their lip balms, I’m willing to bet that’s accurate info.

In addition to their lip balm - natural and organic of course, they’ve also launched Plant Pods, their plastic-free, plant-based lip balm tubes.
