Summer Must Read Book List for Women
I’m not sure if it’s the longer days, or the warmer weather, but when spring hits, I’m ready for new spring books. I couldn’t have planned the package I received from Harper Collins any better - just in time for the season, a box full books for women, to occupy my time with.
Whether you’re looking for Mother’s Day gifts, books to take with you to the beach or even new releases, 2021 style, one (or all😊) of these titles should fit your needs.
The Bookstore On the Beach by Brenda Novak
Eighteen months ago, Autumn Divac’s husband went missing. Her desperate search has yielded no answers, and she can’t imagine moving forward without him. But for the sake of their two teenage children, she has to try.
Autumn takes her kids home for the summer to the charming beachside town where she was raised. She seeks comfort working alongside her mother and aunt at their bookshop, only to learn that her daughter is facing a huge life change and her mother has been hiding a terrible secret for years. And when she runs into the boy who stole her heart in high school, old feelings start to bubble up again. Is she free to love him, or should she hold out hope for her husband’s return?
Ready for a getaway? Me too! Even if you aren’t headed to the beach, this book will be exactly what you need for vacation, a day off, or a relaxing weekend. I can just picture myself, sitting in the sunshine soaking up the Vitamin D, The Bookstore On the Beach in hand.
Just My Luck by Adele Parks
A gripping tale of friendship, money, betrayal and good luck gone bad…
For fifteen years, Lexi and Jake have played the same six numbers with their friends. Over drinks, dinner parties and summer barbecues, the three couples have discussed the important stuff—kids, marriages, careers—and they’ve laughed off their disappointment when they failed to win anything.
But then the unthinkable happens. There’s a rift in the group. Someone is caught in a lie. And soon after, six numbers come up that change everything forever.
Lexi and Jake have a ticket worth millions. And their friends are determined to claim a share.
Who else likes to grab a good book at bedtime? Something about unwinding, my brain totally shut off to the day's happenings and instead carried off into someone else's story, is just about perfection.
With Just My Luck, I'll happily get a peek into other people's drama, which I'm certain will make my own seem like nothing. I'm finishing a book right now, and this is next up on my list!
The Path to Sunshine Cove by RaeAnne Thayne
With the emotional pull of Debbie Macomber, Barbara Delinsky and Susan Wiggs, RaeAnne Thayne tells three love stories in one: between a husband and wife who need to find their way back together; between a man and woman taking one more chance at love; and between two sisters, trying to heal the past and look forward to their future.
“Thayne's books are wonderfully romantic, feel-good reads that end with me sighing over the last pages.” —Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times bestselling author
This synopsis gives me all the "awwwws." I'm the girl that always hopes for a happy ending, for everyone - in every book, movie and life experience. In The Path to Sunshine Cove, I get to cheer on three different scenarios and six different people, and I can fully stand behind that.
Anyone else out there a cheerleader for happy endings? I know some people say, "that's not reality." True, but I live in reality...when I ready a book or watch a movie just give me the happy ending🥰
Summertime Guests by Wendy Francis
The Seafarer is the place to see and be seen in the summer… With its rich history and famous guests, the glamorous Boston hotel is no stranger to drama. But the bustle at the iconic property reaches new heights one weekend in mid-June when someone falls tragically to her death, the event rippling through the lives of four very different people.
Over three sun-drenched days, as the truth about the woman who died—and the secret she was hiding—is uncovered, these four strangers become linked in the most unexpected of ways. Together, they just might find the strength they need to turn their own lives around.
I loooove a good mystery! Summertime Guests seems like it might keep me at the edge of my seat, from cover to cover.
And since we're not quite getting those warm-weather vibes in Indiana (I'm literally watching it snow at the moment), my fingers are crossed that at least in my mind, I can picture summer days and salty air when I start this.
It honestly doesn’t matter whether you need gift giving ideas, or are just searching for your next good read, any of these four books from Harper Collins will give you just what you’re looking for. And I won’t tell a soul if you buy one as a gift, crack it open and end up reading it, and then give it away slightly “used.” Our secret:)
